This shirt is made from an antique tablecloth embellished with cutwork and drawnwork, circa 1920s-1930s. Cutwork is a needlework technique in which designs are cut out of the fabric and the raw edges are reinforced with stitching. The sections of mesh are worked via drawnwork, a similar technique in which threads are removed from the fabric and the remaining threads are bound together in a geometric pattern.
